Emergence

My latest piece “Emergence” was the result of time spent pondering the idea of “emerging”. It all started in spring when I was photographing new flowers….I love watching the process of the gradual unfolding of a flower from the bud. This tight little bud holds something incredibly beautiful. The same with butterflies – there is some extraordinary magic that happens inside that cocoon. All of which led me to thinking about the parallels within the life of a person. We unfold gradually into the beauty of who we are but also at times need to retreat to our cocoon. And after undergoing the alchemy of that space we once again emerge…the same, but not the same.
